Butterfly in the sky.

All my fellow bookworms just finished that phrase I hope.  Or else I’m all alone and a big nerd.

Charlotte is teaching herself how to read and I really need to blog about it because she is doing so well.  I don’t really know at what level she is reading—6th grade?  7th?  KIDDING.  But really, she is just figuring it all out and reading like a maniac.  Riding in the car with her has become a bit taxing.  Gone are the days when I can sing loudly and they will just sit back there and take the abuse.  Now she is constantly sounding out words, spelling things, explaining phonics and grammar to Victoria.

Here are some of the phrases Charlotte read all by herself while we were driving all over tarnation today:

Car Wash
Exit Only – Do Not Enter
Open For Business

And for equal opportunity bragging:

Victoria is potty trained.  NO MORE DIAPERS*.  Like ever.  EVER people.

*Instead I’ll be buying nighttime pull-ups until the end of time.  But I’ll take it. Woohoo!!

I CAN GO TWICE AS HIGH!

Had to.

That is so great! Charlotte is a genius. Audrey has started reading, too. Sometimes she reads over my shoulder when I type.

And yay for being potty trained! You know, we made Audrey wear nighttime Pull-Ups for so long, but every morning, they were wet. When we finally took them off, she peed the bed once and then never again. So you just never know! For a while I just put down an extra layer of towels and blankets so it'd be easy to change the bed if needed.

Holy long comment Batman.

I teach "gifted" kids for a living. Sounds like you might have one on your hands.

Ditto to the Yay for no more diapers!

As for the reading thing, if your daughter is anything like mine, get used to it. I've got a 6 year old who never stops reading. Or writing. Or asking me how to spell things. It's cute and makes me proud and annoys the crap out of me all at the same time.

Go Charlotte! :) I hear you about the car. Ethan is always quizzing me. He'll say, "what letter makes this sound mommy?" Then he'll make a sound and I have to tell him the letter. LOL He always gets so excited when I get it right, like he doesn't think that I would know such things. ha ha

Great Victoria!! :) No more diapers!! Time to have another one.. totally joking. kind of.
