Bad day.

I've been paying close attention to my life over the last few days.  I have needed something fun or funny or thought-provoking to blog about.

But nothing has really happened.

Then today happened.  Today has been a horrible day.  I've been a horrible mother today.  I've yelled, I've lost my voice, I've cried, I've made my children cry.  I grounded them from the TV.  I grounded them from the computer.  I grounded them from touching my cell phone {and consequently turning off the ringer making me totally unreachable}.

They are just too dang happy and giggly today.  Is there such a thing?  I know, it sounds horrible.  I should be filled with joy at the sounds of my girls giggling and chasing each other but today it's more than I can handle.

I'm sick.  My head hurts.  I didn't sleep well.  My throat hurts.  I'm coughing and with every cough my stupid body reminds me that it's not the same body it was pre-children.  Every cough brings back the sensitive gag-reflex of early pregnancy.  Every cough makes me nearly pee my freaking pants.

And because I'm sick I'm also confused about what day it is.  This means I missed someone's hair appointment and I just can't get over it.  It's the thing that finally brought me to a full-fledged waterfall of tears.  I can't think of anything I can do to make myself feel better about this.

So I decided to write it down and try to get over it.  I love my Mom today because I called her at work and bawled and she is going to come and save me.  Thanks Mom.

Here's to tomorrow--may it come sooner rather than later.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who still calls my mom when I have a bad day.

Hope you get feeling better soon!

Let me see...something to make you feel better...hot chocolate, Dr. Pepper, Christmas cadbury chocolate balls and a long soak in the bathtub. Some days are meant to BE the opposition in all things, to remind us just how good we have it on normal days. Now that you've been reminded, it should be smooth sailing!

Kate!
I'm so sorry you feel like this! Apart from the being sick part, I've felt the same way for the past two weeks. :( And a little Diet DP just isn't quite cutting it. So glad your mom is nearby. And hopefully she's not like my mom and asks, "Honey, is it close to your time of the month?" Really makes me wanna punch my cute mom right in the face.

Hope the rest of the week goes better.

Yes, there IS such a thing as too much happy and giggly. My daughter drives me crazy with her giggling on a regular basis. Darn pregnancy hormones!

I hope today was better, sweetie.

So sorry, Babe. Hope you are feeling better. I totally know how you feel. I have had a bad WEEK and have felt like a horrible wife and mother. Hang in there. One day at a time, I guess.

Hopefully today was better. Sounds like it had to be. Bad days are bad.

BTDT. Thank goodness for Mom's who can come save the day. I think it is normal to love your kids beyond words and need to get away from them....quickly!

Here's to a better week :)

The other day I almost made my facebook status say:

"the sound of my kids' laughter is like fingernails on a chalkboard"

but I knew that made me sound like an asshole (not to mention a bad mother) so I didn't post it. But I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who some days can't even handle the things that are supposed to make me smile.

I hope you feel better soon.
