Our little friend.
My neighbor Rachel alerted me a couple of weeks ago to a friendly little snake we had living in our yards. I have been trying to spot the thing ever since then. I’m not afraid of snakes really, but didn’t want to accidentally step on it or anything.
My mother in law is HORRIFIED of snakes. You really can’t even say the word “snake” in her presence. My mother in law is also here at my house once a week tending my kids. So of course she is the one to find the snake. It was in the window well, and she swears that it tried to jump out.
The day after she found it she called me at 8:20 in the morning asking if we had done anything about the snake. We were all still lounging in bed and since we hadn’t gone on a midnight snake hunt I had to tell her that it was still happily residing in our neighborhood. She called later that day to ask again, “How is our little friend?”
Clearly if I ever wanted my in laws to come back to my house I had to get rid of the snake.
Court is so strong and brave and jumped into the window well. Ew, spiders galore down there I’m sure. We should have kept the snake to keep the spiders and little crawly things at bay.
Now our snake lives in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Hope he doesn’t find his way back.

Does he want to come my way and get rid of my snake? lol. I have 2 and a baby living in my yard and I am terrified!!!! But my husband doesn't see them as a big thing so they 1 snake at least has been there for 2 years now. Maybe I'll just learn to overcome my fear and not panic every time I go in the back yard!
That was a thoughtful ending. Nice of you to take it up the canyon. Did you leave it in the picnic areas?
That little thing?!
i'm just gonna say i love your mother-in-law b/c it got that creepy thing out my yard too :)
Oh gosh, I would have kept the thing! They eat all the disgusting bugs.
