I like Dutch and Flemish painters--maybe because I’m a nerd. Specifically I like Vermeer--maybe because of Colin Firth. More likely because of Tracy Chevalier and her fantastic book Girl With a Pearl Earring.
A few days ago I found myself behind this monster.
And I just wonder what Johannes Vermeer would think about his name on a woodchipper.
Also, can I get a carwash please?

I wrote an analysis on a Vermeer painting when I was in college. It looked like the second one you posted, but he did a ton like that one.
Anyway, most boring paper ever. I was thrilled to be done with it.
