Where did I go??

Yikes I have not blogged for a while.  I’ve been busy!

Charlotte is preparing for her big dance recital.  Yesterday was class pictures and you know she didn’t crack a single smile for those.  I love paying 32 dollars to see her scowl.  That just warms my little heart.  So I trapped her on the front porch afterward and told her some funny jokes offered her a dollar.

Look at her ridiculously long eyelashes!  It’s just not fair.

Victoria has been adorable as usual, but not really preparing for anything.  Oh the life of a 2 year old is glorious what with that daily two and a half hour nap.  I would like to work that into my routine if I could one of these days.

Memorial day we did our usual, visiting my grandpa’s grave and then a family get together afterward.  I don’t know why but I was having the most emotional day.  I drove down with my kids which of course meant listening to songs from Glee [I promise I am trying to broaden their horizons with other music].  I was a hot mess the whole drive.  I Dreamed a Dream, then Dream a Little Dream (which my cute grandma always plays on the organ), then One (except I do take issue with the fact that the stupid Glee kids actually called U2 “classic rock”), then I DARE you not to cry when your tiny little kids know every word and sing along to Imagine.  That is the sweetest damn thing I’ve ever heard.  Ever.  Then we all stand around the grave at the cemetery and sing Love At Home.  Seriously who can get through that one without bursting into tears?  I think I was in need of an emotional release or something.  Someone come over here and give me a hug and help me get a grip!

I really wouldn't feel good about myself if I didn't point out the shocking amount of toddler shoulder shown in this post. I'll say it again...Shocking! IDK, is it just me?? *shrug*

I've missed you. Your daughter is beautiful and yes, I'd love to have her eyelashes!
I miss being home in UT for the holidays, Memorial Day included. We always go to the cemetary and to eat with everyone. My sweet grandmother passed last Nov. so it was hard not being there...

My kids know all the words to "My Life Would Suck Without You" thanks to our Glee album. However, I don't think they even know Love At Home. What is the deal with our primary? We go every week and they don't know that song, but they know My Life Would Suck Without You?!

I am a failure as a father.

I see so much of you in that sweet little face!

Oh, and my six year old daughter is fluent in "Hey Soul Sister". It's better than the Greenday song she used to sing at age four! Yikes.
