Always crying.

You know when there is something that makes you cry--like a movie, or a Folgers commercial, or a song--and you are trying to hide it but your husband looks over at you looking for those tears, like he can just sense that there is crying going on? That happens to me a lot. I shouldn't be annoyed at it, because it's not often that that husband of mine gets to exercise his intuition. It just means he is very in tune with my feelings, right?

We went to a movie a couple of weeks ago. Bless my in-laws' hearts for babysitting for us so we could go on a real-life date. It was so much fun, even if we had to do our dating in Utah County. Ahem.

Anyway, one of the previews came on. The girl on the screen said "My name is Salmon, like the fish." And I started to bawl almost uncontrollably. Tears just totally streaming down my face.

The Lovely Bones is finally a movie and it looks like it's actually going to be really good! I'm always nervous when one of the best books in the history of books is turned into a movie. The movie is never as good as the book. Never. (Except for maybe Bridget Jones' Diary.) But I am super anxious to see this movie. I don't even know where to begin describing how much I love this book. I have read it at least 4 times. I read it a couple of times before I had kids and experienced it one way, and then I have read it after having kids and it was like a whole new book for me. I love you Susie Salmon!!

Blah blah blah, just please read The Lovely Bones so that we can all continue to be friends. Thanks.

(Look! You can buy it on Half.com for 75 cents plus shipping! Can't beat that with a stick.)

I've been meaning to read it forever. As soon as I get into the house, I'm going to start going back to the library and check it out. Although it'll probably be all checked out for a long time, now that the movie's coming out ...

P.S. ~ That whole trying to hide your crying and you know your husband is looking at you? Yep, that happened to me last night during The Biggest Loser.

Love that book! I can't wait to see the movie, actually, I need to read the book again so I can watch the movie happily. Oh and I always hide that I'm crying. I usually dig my nails into the palms of my hands and it works!

Your crying comment reminded me of when I was engaged away from my family while my mom was fighting cancer- I cried during a Home Depot commercial, all time low.

Ooh! I LOVED The Lovely Bones. Have you read Lucky by Alice Seybold? It is gut wrenching and beautiful. It gives you an interesting perspective on The Lovely Bones too.

Just saw the preview for that on Friday when I finally saw New Moon. I wanted to see that more than New Moon. I had no idea it was a book. I'll be ordering it today so you'll still be my friend.
P.s- how is the running coming??
