Another domestic Wednesday.

We had another Wednesday of domesticity here today. A day of laundry. I have to confess that Courtland typically does all of our laundry. All of it. And I let him because it seems to be kind of a therapeutic ritual for him. In some perverted manner it's a way he likes to unwind. I don't get it, but really, when you're husband is in the habit of doing all the laundry you just get your buns out of the way and let him do it.

I've been doing my own laundry since I was 10 I think. My dad dragged me and my sisters down to the laundry room, gave us a short tutorial on how to run the washer and dryer, assigned us each a day of the week whereupon we were forevermore to do our laundry or else shamefully attend the 5th grade in dirty underwear. If I didn't get my clothes washed on the appointed day then tough noogies. I'm a procrastinator so I was totally the kid up at 11:00 at night waiting to put my clothes in the dryer so as to make the deadline.

Courtland has only been doing his own laundry since he was.... let me think.... 27. That's how old he was when he married me and I dragged him to our laundry room and taught him how to run the washer and dryer. Bless his heart he just jumped right in and took over the whole operation. Probably due to the procrastination thing I have going on.

How did I get off on this topic? I did laundry today. It's just not exciting. But it's the one thing I did today to live up to my blog title. The other thing I did was to reheat baked potatoes from 2 days ago in the microwave. My small children were impressed even if you're not.

One thing I'm majorly failing at currently is getting into the holiday spirit. No Christmas decorations out. No Christmas cards in the works. And about 10% of my Christmas shopping done. I'm not panicking though. Yet.

The whole reason I have front loaders is so my kids can reach to do laundry at a very early age. I made my daughter start helping when she was 5. Don't call CPS.

And my tree is standing but doesn't have a single decoration on it. I've also bought exactly 3 gifts, and one's actually a birthday present.

*sigh*

Do I need to come put up a tree for you? I totally will.

My heart aches for your lack of decorating. How do you function with no garland...no twinkling lights. It's a sad thought. A sad, sad thought. NOW GET IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT!!!!

I'm totally impressed with your domesticness. I did no laundry today...or yesterday...or the day before that.....I think I need Court to come rescue me!

Your blog is very entertaining. My husband does mine and his laundry - and I do the kids laundry. Its a deal we have worked out, and its great. Doing laundry for all 4 people in our family was just too big a job for me, and I was failing at it. Its been so much easier since he took over half of it.

I am not ready for Christmas at all yet either. I don't think I have ever waited this long to get a tree.....and I don't think I will be getting one within the next week either. It just sounds like too much work.
