Happy Victoria Day [which was yesterday]
First a little shout out to my internet connection, which was absolute crap yesterday. So frustrating. I had this post all planned out, all written, and just needed about 60 seconds of continuous internet connectivity to actually get my post up. Never happened. [edited to add: Today Blogger is also shunning formatting. That's awesome. I should go back to bed.]
We're not Canadian and we're certainly not French
but we'll do anything to celebrate Victoria! What is Victoria Day anyway?
Victoria Day (in French: FĂȘte de la Reine), colloquially known as May Two-four, May Long, or May Run, is a Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the last Monday before or on 24 May, in honour of both Queen Victoria's birthday and the current reigning Canadian sovereign's official birthday. It has been marked since before Canada was formed, originally falling on the sovereign's actual birthday, and continues to be celebrated across the country on a fixed date and in various fashions, also being considered an informal mark of the beginning of the summer season.
History lesson over. Thanks Wikipedia.

Our own Queen Victoria is so busy busy. She has learned how to crawl down the stairs. She knows how to get onto and off of the couch without falling, and she's just generally freaking adorable. She isn't talking much, but Court says it's because she's so physically advanced she's putting all her energy toward being a climber. She says Daddy all the time. I think Court just doesn't care if she ever says anything besides Daddy. Thanks hon. Victoria is a much bigger kid than Charlotte was. She's wearing all of Charlotte's summer clothes from last year, from when Charlotte was 2. Even the shoes. What else can I say about Victoria? She's incredible.
