Making good on the domestic bit.
Some might say I'm not very domestic. Crafty? Yes. Domestic? Eh. Mostly I'm just a goddess, and needed something catchy to add to that title.
I for sure know how to cook. I like to cook. I think I'm actually a pretty good cook. I certainly have watched enough Food Network to teach me a trick or two. But I just don't really cook as often as I should. Part of me blames that on the recent vegetarianism that my dear husband has adopted. But it's been more than two years and he doesn't seem to be budging. It's time for me to start cooking again.
So I've made dinner twice this week. Shocked the heck out of a couple of people in this house. My family does get fed every day, but usually it's something tossed together at the last possible minute. With a one year old and an almost three year old you can slice up some cheese, heat up some frozen peas, open a can of vienna sausages and call it dinner.
But with Court's new job--which by the way is at an institution called Investools and which by the way he's really digging--schedules are a little different these days. I have been working on Thursdays while Court stays home with the kids, and I'd like to keep doing so even though he doesn't have Thursdays off anymore, therefore Court's wonderful parents are coming up every Thursday to babysit so I can keep up my schedule (at my beautiful new salon which I will be blogging about soon).
Oh my gosh I'm totally rambling. What I'm getting at is that I'm for sure going to cook dinner on Thursdays because although I know my in laws think I'm incredible, I need to prove it further. I'm really excited because I found this blog tonight called A Year of CrockPotting. Yes! All my problems have officially been solved. The crockpot is my new bff.
The in laws coming to my house once a week also adds extra pressure to have a constantly clean bathroom. Wish me luck.

LOL I love that blog. I've never made anything from it, but I keep thinking...one day.
Try the "candy chicken" from the year of crock potting! So good!
That is pressure to have in-laws there every week, but it'll be so nice.
I'm lovin my crock pot too. It looks like you actually put effort into dinner when you really didn't :)
Haha I was gonna recommend the candy chicken too!! YUM, Nate asks for it all the time!!
you will be domesticated before we no it! you go
You are an awesome cook. Even though I've only ever had your baking, I'm sure you can't be good at one and not the other.
I can vouch for Kate's cooking. It's delish. And PS - I can bake, but I can't cook to save my life. *sigh*
Kate - you should make the white chili I've been raving about. 6-8 hours in a crock pot and then pure heaven. And bonus! It freezes nicely.
yeah, of all the things you've talked about in that blog, keeping the bathroom is the worst. i can cook, but keeping up the bathrooms, all three, is quite the chore. especially with five kids. sheesh. if you can do that, you're a wonderwoman in my book. mind you, i'm a stay at home dad right now. bathrooms and kitchen floors, my kryptonite!
