Trip to Glenwood.
We've been home from our trip to Glenwood for a week and I still haven't blogged about it! We had such a good time and it was awesome of the Warners to let us stay in their house. It is such a great old house and it's nice to go somewhere and stay in a bed that's comfier than the one you have at home. We loved it. Victoria did great on her first vacation ever. She slept in the pack n play in our room and she was a dream the whole time. It's fun to watch Victoria and Ivy together. She's definitely more high maintenance than miss serene Ivy who just sits and happily plays. Victoria isn't happy unless she's moving around and standing up to all the furniture. I think she had a good time.
Our drive down was beautiful--such a pretty time of year to be driving through small town Utah. Charlotte and I like to look for horses wherever we go. I got overly excited when we saw 4 horses running in a field. "Look, they're running!" Court was like, yeah, you are such a girl. What is it with girls and horses? I don't know. I've never even ridden a horse but I just love them. Andrea gave us some suspicious directions so it took us a few minutes longer to get to Glenwood but it was all good.
Probably my favorite thing about last weekend was seeing a whole new side of my dear husband--the outdoorsy athletic side! Who knew? He was totally mister adventure on the 4 wheelers and ever since we've been talking about getting our own and how we're going to tow them and where we're going to take them. We definitely need some toys like that to add to the Panguitch experience. We put Charlotte on a 4 wheeler and she was totally scared but really wanted to do it at the same time. By the time I pulled out of the driveway she was loving it. She was lured by the promise of riding them down the street to visit the horses. That's my girl.
We also played softball in the yard which is my favorite sport and I know I'm out of practice because every time I had to run from base to base I screamed like a little girl. Man I need to toughen up a little bit. I've gotten all wussy in my old age. Maybe being a hair stylist has overgirlified me.
Speaking of screaming like a little girl.... here's a fantastic story. Court, Steve, Amy, and Peter were in the family room watching Halloween? Friday the 13th? I can't remember. Andrea, Ashley and I were in the dining room playing Scrabble. We wanted to scare the movie watchers so Andrea went outside and threw something at the house. It made a pretty big thump but it didn't freak anyone out that badly. So 20 minutes later Ashley goes outside and scrapes her wood Scrabble tile holder down the window. It made the creepiest noise and I think it's safe to say it scared the living daylights out of Peter. He pulled a Costanza and pushed Amy out of his way in his horrified exit of the family room. He was so freaked out! Swear words and sheer panic. Andrea and I were able to keep a straight face until he said in the most panicked voice I've ever heard "was that Ashley!!!??" Ha!
We visited the cemetery and all of its 12 graves, we walked to the old ZCMI building in town (and I use the term "town" very loosely) and peeked in the window looking for ghosts, and we all got freaked out about the obviously haunted house across the street from the Warner's house. Steve said "I've been coming here for 30 years and I've never noticed that house." I'm telling you, it's a creepy house and every single Gibbs who saw it noticed. And Court. He's such a Gibbs sometimes. ;)
I wish I had more pictures of everyone but of course I mostly took pictures of my lovely children. Besides I didn't wear makeup all weekend and who really wants to see that. Oh, let's not forget that the whole weekend was to celebrate Momma Gibbs' birthday! Happy birthday to our beautiful mother!

Your kids are so dang cute! I wonder where they get that from???
Oh costanza! Great post and pictures! I also resent that my younger brother is better looking than me. No fair!
What a fun time! I could only be so lucky to have my baby sleep in a pack-n-play.

oh it was so much fun. Love all the pictures. And yea Pete is so dang funny. Yay for Glenwood!
Oh, I LOVE creepy old places! I'm such a sucker for abandoned buildings and ghost towns. Looks like so much fun. Love that picture of Charlotte at the ZCMI building.
Your photo captions made me laugh out loud. In a meeting. Fabulous!
Cute pics. The one of Charlotte in front of ZCMI is priceless she just needs some shopping bags to complete the look. I think Victoria has more hair than Brooklyn.
Loves the update! That picture of Charlotte in front of the ZCMI building is just way too cute! HECK,,, all the pictures of your kids are cute!
I LLOLed (wink wink) at the horse-whisperer comment!! Kate, the fact that you even PLAYED softball makes you my hero! I am such a weenie when it comes to sports. And Court's sandals made me giggle. They go along with the vegetarianism (is that even a word?) very well. Oh, and he has great hair.
(One of these days you're going to tell me to quit sounding like such a home wrecker and oodling over your husband's luscious locks! I hope that day never comes, but if it does, I'm prepared to take it...)
