Dream house

Court and I are big fans of modern design. Just ask any of my family members how I feel about midcentury modern. I think they finally know what that means. I was looking on Dwell.com yesterday and found this house. Amazing! It's my new dream house. Do you think it would fit in somewhere in this valley? Cottonwood Heights? Sandy? Draper? I'm trying to imagine it near the monolithic homes in Steeple Chase, or even better, up on South Mountain by the new temple. Surely I would be mocked for my miniscule 2300 square foot home. I think that size qualifies for a garage or a shed for some people. Come on people, less house to clean! Less space to collect a bunch of crap that you don't need anyway!

I think the concept of landscaping in the middle and not around the house is totally ingenious.

Ha, that's an awesome house! I would totally live there. And I'm with you on less house, less cleaning! Sitting here in my modest little 1700 sq. ft. home 2300 sq. ft. sounds nice.

That's a pretty cool house. I really like all of the windows with a view of the courtyard. I love houses with a courtyard or something similar in the middle of the house.

Did you read the sequel to These is My Words? There's a house in there that sounds nice to me. I'm sure it wouldn't actually be something I would like, but it had a courtyard in the middle and a outdoor cooking area right outside the kitchen. That was the part that sounded nice to me.

That is cool. Did you see Martian Child - it's a movie with John Cusak (you'll fall in love with him all over again) anyway, it reminds me of his house in that movie.

That house is incredible! I've always thought that structuraly surrounded courtyard landsaciping was an ingenious idea. Someday, we'd like to add on to our home and do something similar. It's too freakin' windy here!

I wonder if you could run along the top, like a track. that would make it awesome!

I LOVE IT! I think it might work smack dab in the middle of my cookie-cutter-track-house-neighborhood nightmare.

Not that you asked my opinion, but I could see your kids running around in circles and the best part is you could sit on the couch and watch them, literally run around the house in circles : )
