Give me something to believe in

Rain rain go away
Come again another day

Blah for this rainy day today. Plus, when I came home from work earlier, we were the retards with our sprinklers going in the rain. That was really embarrassing! So here I am, at noon, and I've already been to work, my friend ditched out on our lunch play date, and I'm stranded with my unregistered car. What is a girl to do? Blog.

I'm racking my brain for something interesting to blog about. I know I have unfinished "homework" to do, but that sounds too homeworky. I could tell the story of my new POS van I have acquired. 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan, which will be known herein as "the humbler." Some people (a sister of mine in particular) think it's horribly embarrassing and humiliating to drive an old beater van when you are a hot young thing like myself and only have one child. Here's my question to you naysayers: Is driving a car which is virtually free embarrassing? Hell no it's not! Driving a car you pay too much for? Well maybe. So if anyone wants a ride somewhere in the Humbler, please give me a call.

You shouldn't let anyone get you down about the humbler. It really isn't that bad. I support you guys fully in this venture with the humbler. Furthermore... this agent in the office that I think is pretty cute just came in to talk to me and he is a miniature Jay Rassmussen...no freaking joke. love you!

AAAAWWW. I am humbled by the humbler. I just declared you the winner of some TGIF's french onion soup on my blog...does that make you feel any better? Perhaps we should do lunch tomorrow!

I was very excited about my soup win. YAY! I have to work tomorrow from about 12 to 4. Bridal party. I wish we could do lunch today, but alas, the Humbler is unregistered and a danger to society (and to some people's sensibilities).

Love you all!

It was not Shaun...that would have been nice. Cuz he's totally cute too. It was Aaron Hamilton. He gave in to baldness and finally shaved all his hair and he looks nice. But ya...totally Jay it's weird!

I think we all could apprecieate a pic of the humbler.

Furthermore, I am looking forward to my ride in the humbler on June 25th. In fact, I am counting down the days until I get to see it. (oh, and you and lottie, and court, and whoever else I am lucky enough to see...)

I think a cheap car is great. My grandparents are going to sell me their 1978 Honda accord with only 62,000 miles and in showroom condition. It gets 46 miles per gallon! How do you go wrong?!

What's this? You are coming back??!? Leatherby's better be on the agenda sistah.

I'll go where the humbler takes me...

I just want to all remind you of my cute little honda...my muffler is just about gone. stupid kids try to race me while driving. little do they know i didn't spend money to get the great rumbling sound that my hot honda puts out...and well they did. it's a good thing it's an accord and not a civic, because i actually am able to race these little punks and leave them in the dust with the sound of my muffler to haunt their tiny dreams lol

Megs, you have a Mini!? Cool, but a baby is cooler. Trade up sister. :)

Brian, I will trade you a kick ass van for your grandparent's honda. It's an offer you can't refuse.

Hello? I'm ready for a new post please.

Susiee Q said...

Yeah. Seriously. What happened to your regularly scheduled posts? We need something to crack us up. It's time. I second the motion.

Camille said...

Roberts rules of order say...motion passed. Time for a new entry. Here are a few subjects to get you brainstorming:

1. your many stories of dating escapades(pre - Courtland, of course)
2. something funny about Mark Todd, like when he used to call us at the salon all druken from the Trap!
3. Whats new with Lottie.
4. A Gibbs sisters story. Perhaps something somewhat scandalous that will initiate a lot of comment...

Does this help?

Lynette...are you trying to say you think we are all scandelous? lol you may just be right.

Susiee Q said...

I just want y'all to live up to the reputation you have built as funny Gibb's girls. Which means post...post...post, and crack us up!!!

I concur, there needs to be somekind of policy that explicitly states: If you have a blog, you need to post something at the minimum 3 times a week, to avoid stiff financial penalties....

I think I'm probably the one for the job. The other sisters have a life with kids n stuff. And amy doesn't blog...so that pretty much leaves me. But everyone seems to gather at Kate's blog. So that leaves pretty much no motivation for myself.

I'm working on my photo meme. Stay tuned. It's hard work!

"give me something to believe in" Brett Michaels eh......

By the way, are we ever going to set up that DATE?

Kate said...

Mike are you asking ME for a date? I sincerely hope not. I'm taken.

Barrilla said...

I figured since Brian and Steve are now a dating.... we could be a couple too...NO, I am referring to the "date" that you were going to quit the dew.... and thus provide the inspiration that I need (through example) for me to quit...

Kate said...

Oh, that date. I thought you actually wanted to "date" me. Now I'm sad. And I'm not ready to give up the dew yet, but soon my friend. Soon.

ashley said...

it's a good thing you guys aren't a bunch of alcoholics. they way you talk about your dew is frightening.
